Renewing Before Expiry vs After Expiry

The ideal time to renew your DSC is 30–60 days before the expiry date. However, if your DSC has already expired, here is what changes:

  • Before expiry: Some CAs allow simplified renewal using the existing DSC to authenticate the new application — fewer documents needed
  • After expiry: Full fresh application is required — same as applying for the first time, with all documents and video verification
  • Token reuse: In both cases, the new certificate is downloaded onto your existing USB token (space permitting) — no need to buy a new token
  • Old certificate stays: The expired certificate remains on the token but cannot be used for signing — the new one is active

How to Apply for a Post-Expiry DSC Renewal

  • Contact DSC.in.net via WhatsApp or phone with your expired DSC details
  • Provide: Aadhaar card, PAN card, recent passport photograph
  • For Organisation DSC: also provide GST certificate or incorporation certificate
  • Complete the CA application form (we help fill it)

  • Register the new DSC on any portals where the old one was registered (e.g., MCA, Income Tax, GST)
