DGFT DSC Process — Complete Step-by-Step Guide

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is the apex body managing India's foreign trade policy. If you hold an Importer Exporter Code (IEC) and wish to access the DGFT portal for licence applications, modification of IEC, or any online service, you need a specially issued DGFT Digital Signature Certificate.

What Makes DGFT DSC Different?

A DGFT DSC is not simply a standard Class 3 DSC registered on the DGFT portal. It is a purpose-specific certificate issued by authorised CAs with a special OID (Object Identifier) that identifies it as DGFT-compatible. The DGFT portal recognises only these specially issued certificates.

Step-by-Step DGFT DSC Application Process

• Step 1 — Contact us: Contact DSC.in.net via WhatsApp or phone and specify you need a DGFT DSC
• Step 2 — Document submission: Submit your Aadhaar card, PAN card, IEC certificate, and a recent photograph
• Step 3 — Application form: We fill the CA-specific application form with your details
• Step 4 — Payment: Pay for the DGFT DSC (pricing varies by CA and validity)
• Step 5 — Video verification: Complete the video verification call (3–5 minutes)
• Step 6 — Issuance: DGFT DSC issued within 24 hours; download it onto your USB token
• Step 7 — Register on DGFT portal: Login to dgft.gov.in → My Profile → Register DSC → select your certificate → confirm

Registering DGFT DSC on the DGFT Portal

• Visit dgft.gov.in and login with your IEC credentials
• Navigate to "My Profile" → "DSC Registration"
• Insert your USB token and select the DGFT certificate from the drop-down
• Enter your token PIN to digitally sign the registration
• A success message confirms your DGFT DSC is registered

After registering your DGFT DSC, you can use the DGFT portal to apply for Advance Authorisation, EPCG licences, MEIS/RoDTEP claims, IEC modification and all other DGFT online services. Keep track of your DGFT DSC expiry and renew at least 30 days before to maintain uninterrupted access.
